![]() ![]() Charles Nuetzel Charles Nuetzel is a legend in the field of sci-fi and adult paperbacks, not only as a writer, but also as an entrepreneurial publisher and "packager" of books and book lines. Rare book scholar and historian Lynn Munroe has an extensive interview with Nuetzel which I highly recommend.. Among the more fascinating elements to his career were his dozens of pseudonyms (Alec Riviere, John Davidon, Jay Davis, Carson Davis, Fred Davis, Fred MacDonald, Alex Blake, Stu Rivers, Jay West, Albert Augustus, others (check out the Bill Ewing-Nuetzel interview to hear about them all) and resourceful use of the talents of his father Albert Nuetzel as cover artist. Nuetzel wrote prolifically and stories of his involvement in Southern California's sleaze publishing world are very interesting.
